Deer Lodge is the only one of our cabin locations to feature a private four-to-six-person hot tub located on the back deck so that you can soak away your cares. Turn up the heat, grab a drink and enjoy easing sore muscles in this luxurious location. The private hot tub feels like it is right out in the forest, amidst the trees. There’s no better location in all of North Carolina for good conversation and great relaxation.
On-site, we have over 10 acres of hiking trails, a pickleball court, tennis court, a treehouse, and a creek with jewel panning.
Lake Toxaway comes from a Cherokee term meaning “Land of the Redbird.” These red birds were thought to be an expression of the spirits of those that had passed. As soon as you step onto the land, you’ll be able to feel its calming, sacred energy. The cabin is within a short drive to popular hikes that include DOZENS of waterfalls! An ideal base to explore Lake Toxaway, Cashiers and Highlands, and the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Peace and Quiet
This is a great mountain cabin. The peace and quiet is wonderful. We can tell a lot of thought and consideration was given to comfort as well as beauty. All of the small things are noticed, such as plush towels and washcloths, comfortable furniture, coffee for the coffee maker. Very nice!

Took my Breath Away
Deer Lodge absolutely took my breath away as soon as we pulled up. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to spend a weekend winter vacation anywhere else. We had all the amenities of home but without all the distractions. We felt miles away from everyone. This was really a magical experience.
